This is how I felt on the very first day of spring. The Calla Lillies are in bloom again, The sound of baby birds chirping outside my window. The smell of dewy grass. Sunkist mornings and everyday is new and fresh with no mistakes in it. I'm gonna be a better person and welcome God's gift to me. Everyday is Christmas...
Then I sprung out of bed and into my cozy South Park slippers, went into the bathroom to take my mornings ablution. Realized much too late that there was no toilet paper with in reach, so I had to do the toilet paper skip-hop to the linen closet. That was OK, just a minor setback. After completing my morning constitution, I proceeded to go to the kitchen to start my day with a nice bowl of Frosted Flakes, cause they're Gr-r-reat! Stepped out of the bedroom and slipped on the nice little present one of my dogs left me on the floor. Now I've got dootie on my plush slippers and a nice skid track leading from the living room to the dining room, and I haven't even had my sugar rush yet. Still its spring so I try and let it pass.
I take off my shoes, walk across the cold floor until I reach the kitchen. At first my pugs are happy to see me until they see my face, at which time they decide it best if they run at break-neck speed to their cages. I mop the floor and toss my shoes in the laundry and pick up where I left off. Just as I'm about to make my insane bucket of Frosted Flakes, I notice the garbage can is overflowing. I remove the bag, tie it off and then take it outside to the bin. I lift the top to the bin, toss the bag and let the top drop. I rub my hands together to remove any residue and discover, I have put my hand in bird poop and am now rubbing it into my hands. Yuck. and just as I am heading back into the house, I look up and a bird is taking apart the nest it had over our screen door all winter. so now straw, poop and whatever else is raining down on my head.
So now I realize that even with all its promise and beauty, Spring is FULL OF SHIT!
